Portrait of Jaipur - a panorama view of the 'Pink City'
Jaipur is about 275 years old
city. Half of the old city is the best part of it's heritage. I
recorded a panorama view of this wonderful architecture on film. Sixteen (16)
pictures were stitched together on computer to make this panorama. Across
the road and opposite to this site, there is one old house known as 'Nawab Sahib
ki Haveli'. It is from the terrace of this house that this picture was 'shot'.
Interestingly, the earliest owner of this house was the famous architect Vidhya
Dhar Chakravarty/Bhattarcharya in 18 th century, known as the planner of Jaipur.
Present owner of this house is Mr. Triloki Das Khandelwal by who's courtesy, I
made the first picture. I came to know one more interesting and little known fact
that there is a small Lord Shiv temple in the courtyard of this house. The stone
depicting Shiv is the center-stone of the old city!!!
